Pet waste on the streets of our cities is a persistent source of pollution. Beyond its unaesthetic appearance, it poses a real threat to human and animal health. One gram of dog feces contains 23 million bacteria, many of which can lead to the spread of intestinal, kidney, and infectious diseases. When it rains, fecal matter doesn't just disappear; it dissolves and can infiltrate the soil, entering stormwater and contaminating water sources. Moreover, as it dries, it turns into dust, which we then inhale. In sparsely populated rural areas, forests, or fields, these issues may not significantly impact the epidemiological situation. However, in densely populated urban environments, they can become a serious problem. Let’s each make a small contribution to keeping our water sources, green spaces, and overall urban environment clean and safe.
What is the mission of your social enterprise?
Our mission is to transform Ukrainian cities into spaces of comfortable coexistence for people and animals.

Why should you choose LavGav products?
In 2015, we became the first in Ukraine to support responsible dog ownership in urban areas. We developed a specialized waste bin called the “Dog Restroom” and launched several series of BIO and ECO bags for cleaning up after dogs. Our team conducted three full-scale social advertising campaigns that highlighted the issue and increased the number of responsible dog owners. We initiated and gathered support for a petition advocating for stricter enforcement against those who refuse to clean up after their dogs. Operating as a social enterprise, we allocate 30% of our profits to support dogs in need. Additionally, our products and communication strategies have set a benchmark for many followers. So, without false modesty, LavGav is now the most recognized brand with high social trust among responsible dog owners.
Are your bags eco-friendly?
Our product line currently offers two types of bags, which we have divided into two categories: BIO and ECO. In the BIO category, we include bags made with a special biodegradable additive mixed into the polyethylene. These bags break down into microdust within three years under the influence of sunlight and oxygen. We also include products made from certified recycled plastic in this category. These bags are already a product of secondary processing and can be disposed of at waste processing plants or landfills. The ECO category includes bags made from corn starch. These bags decompose in nature within 45 days and are suitable for home composting.
Are your bags certified?
Yes, each manufacturer of our dog waste bags provides us with product compliance certificates. You can review these certificates in the “Certificates” section and in the “Certificates” block on each specific product page.
What is the thickness of your bags?
LavGav bags have a thickness of 20 microns, are non-transparent, and block odors. We intentionally increased the standard bag thickness because, as dog owners ourselves, we understand how unpleasant it is to walk around with visible waste in a transparent bag. This isn’t comfortable for pet owners or other city residents.
What are the sizes of your bags?
We produce bags in a universal size of 22x34 cm, which is the standard for this type of product worldwide. It has long been understood globally that the key is not the size of the mess but ensuring enough space for the dog owner's hand while picking it up. In the future, we plan to release special “t-shirt” style bags designed for collecting waste from large dog breeds.
Where are your bags manufactured?
All our products are manufactured in Ukraine, as confirmed by certificates.
What is "Certified recycled plastic"?
Every BIO bag we produce is a step towards preserving the planet. By using certified recycled plastic for the production of our BIO bags, we give a second life to tons of plastic every year. Since we work with recycled plastic instead of creating new materials, our production consumes less energy and fuel, resulting in significantly lower harmful emissions into the atmosphere. We consciously support the circular economy, where waste becomes a resource, and contribute to global efforts to reduce plastic pollution. By choosing bags made from certified recycled plastic, you become part of this important environmental trend, helping to protect the environment for future generations.
What are compostable bags?
Products certified with the "OK compost HOME" label by the Austrian company TŰV Austria significantly reduce the volume of organic waste, and the resulting compost can be used for agricultural and gardening purposes. This, in turn, has a positive impact on the environment. Currently, the standard for ECO bags made from corn starch is the most environmentally friendly option in our product line.
Why do you produce two types of Dog Waste Stations?
We arrived at this solution through an evolutionary process. In locations where a landowner is identified and there is a responsible entity for the removal of organic waste, we recommend installing a full-fledged Dog Waste Station with a bin. In areas where determining the responsible landowner is difficult or unclear, we suggest installing a station without a bin. In any case, wherever a Dog Waste Station by the LavGav brand is installed, 20% to 50% of dog owners immediately start cleaning up after their pets. Over time, this percentage only increases, as people begin to associate these stations with designated areas for the civilized management of pets in the city.
Is it possible to attach a Dog Waste Station to a pole or a fence?
Yes, we do have examples of Dog Waste Stations installed on poles or fences. We don’t produce them in series because the demand isn’t very high, but we are happy to show photos of how this can be implemented. Additionally, we can manufacture this type of construction upon request.
How are Dog Waste Station bins secured?
We recommend securing Dog Waste Stations by embedding them in concrete. For installing one station, you’ll need half a bag of cement, sand, and gravel.
Is it possible to produce Dog Waste Stations in a different color?
Yes, it is possible, and we have such cases. The cost of Dog Waste Stations in colors different from the standard ones will be slightly higher than the original. We are ready to calculate each of your requests individually.
Is it possible to add custom text and graphics to the elements of the waste bin?
Yes, we have done this several times before. With this approach, the production time for the Dog Waste Station may increase slightly, and the cost will also differ. We are ready to calculate each of your requests individually.
Who are the main buyers of Dog Waste Stations?
Currently, the main buyers of Dog Waste Stations are responsible developers who prioritize the comfort and culture of living for their residents. Municipalities in cities with progressive leadership and eco-conscious communities are not far behind. Less frequently, such bins are purchased by homeowner associations (HOAs), but for their needs, we have developed a special Wall-Mounted Holder for BIO bags, called the "Dog Clip". These holders come in two colors and can be mounted both inside and on the exterior walls of buildings.
Is a special permit required to install a Dog Waste Station?
Legislation does not directly regulate this legal aspect. However, if you decide to install a Dog Waste Station with a bin, it’s important to plan in advance who will be responsible for its maintenance. Typically, landowners or property managers are happy to cooperate on such initiatives, as cleanliness and environmental sustainability are key values for all of us.
What is the legal structure of your social enterprise?
Currently, we are a classic example of a small business operating under the legal structure of a sole proprietorship (FOP) in the third group with a 5% tax rate. Our enterprise is not a VAT payer.
What payment methods are available for purchases made through the website?
If you are an individual, you can pay for LavGav products using a bank card through the Liqpay payment system. If you are a business entity of any legal form, select the "Invoice" payment option when placing your order and enter the company's legal name and EDRPOU code. Our manager will then issue an invoice to the provided email address for payment.
Is it possible to pay for your products in cash?
No, we do not offer this payment option. However, you can purchase our products for cash at affiliated retail stores.
Can I pay for the product upon delivery?
Yes, you can choose cash-on-delivery and pay for the product at your Nova Poshta branch. However, due to additional carrier fees, the product cost will increase slightly.
How can I receive the products purchased on the website?
You can choose delivery to a Nova Poshta branch or parcel locker. The delivery cost is calculated according to the carrier's rates. If you're in Kyiv, near Podil or Lvivska Square, feel free to visit us at Voznesensky Uzviz, 23-V, to pick up your order yourself. This way, you won’t have to pay extra for delivery or wait 1–2 days for the parcel to arrive at your branch.
